Final Landscaping Designs
The project has removed 87 trees and will be replanting 167 with a view to identifying an additional 7 locations for other trees in order to comply with the Code of Construction Practice’s 2 for 1 policy. The trees along the route will be a mixture of the following:
- Acer compestre ‘elegant’
- Acer compestre ‘streetwise’
- Carpinus betulus ‘Frans Fontaine’
- Pyrus calleryana ‘Chanticlear’
- Sorbus aria ‘Lutescene’
- Sorbus acuparia ‘Fastigata’
Over 13,500 shrubs will also be planted along the route and these will be a mixture of:
- Amelanchier canadensis
- Brachyglottis monroi
- Hebe ‘red edge’
- Hebe albicans
- Lavandula angustyifolia ‘Hidcote’
- Pachysandra terminalis ‘Variegata’
- Pittosporum tenuilfolium ‘Tom Thumb’
- Prunus laurocerasus
Over 1,800 herbaceous plants will be planted which will be the following:
- Eupharbia amygdaloides rabbiae
A programme of planting is being developed and will be communicated in due course.
The contractor will be responsible for maintaining the trees and plants for two years before they become the responsibility of the City of ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½ Council.
