Full construction programme

ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½ trams route

The Trams to Newhaven Project’s latest construction programme update issued on 3 February 2023 confirms that the project continues to be on schedule for a spring 2023 open for service date and within the £207.3m agreed as part of the Final Business Case. The last construction programme update was issued in September 2022.

As the project enters the final phase of major civil work ahead of testing and commissioning, a review of the specific completion dates for the remaining sections has been carried out. This has resulted in some changes affecting certain sections due to various unavoidable factors such as complex utility diversions, archaeological finds and an industry-wide shortage of materials, though this is not expected to affect the final completion date.

February 2023 stats. 4,609m tram track laid (100%). Main construction of 8/8 tram stops complete. 228 OLE poles (100%). 4,609m OLE wire strung (100%). 4,609m power ducting (100%). 4,609m communication ducting (100%). 4,549m drainage ducting (99%).
