UK Parliamentary Election 4 July 2024

- ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½ West Burgh Constituencies
- An election is to be held for a Member to serve in the UK Parliament for each of the above constituencies.
- Nomination papers can be obtained from the offices of the Returning Officer in the Election Office, City Chambers, High Street, ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½ EH1 1YJ during the times stated below.
- Nomination papers must be delivered to the Returning Officer at the Election Office, City Chambers, High Street, ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½ EH1 1YJ on any day after the date of this notice, Monday to Friday 10am to 4pm (excluding bank holidays) but no later than 4pm on Friday 7 June 2024.
- A person shall not be validly nominated as a candidate unless the sum of £500 is deposited by that person, or on that person’s behalf, with the Returning Officer at the place and during the time for delivery of nomination papers. The deposit may be paid only (a) by legal tender; (b) by banker’s draft (banks operating in the UK only); (c) by debit or credit card; or (d) by prior arrangement agreed with the Returning Officer, by electronic transfer of funds.
- If the election is contested the poll will take place on Thursday 4 July 2024 between 7am and 10pm.
- Applications to register to vote must reach the Electoral Registration Officer by 12 midnight on Tuesday 18 June 2024.
- New applications to vote by post, and amendments or cancellations of existing postal votes or proxy vote arrangements must reach the Electoral Registration Officer at 17a South Gyle Crescent, ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½ EH12 9FL by 5pm Wednesday 19 June 2024.
- Applications for a Voter Authority Certificate or an Anonymous Elector’s Document valid for this election must reach the Electoral Registration Officer by 5pm on Wednesday 26 June 2024. Applications for a .
- New applications to vote by proxy at this election must reach the Electoral Registration Officer at 17a South Gyle Crescent, ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½ EH12 9FL by 5pm on Wednesday 26 June 2024.
- Applications to vote by emergency proxy at this election must reach the Electoral Registration Officer at 17a South Gyle Crescent, ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½ EH12 9FL by 5pm on 4 July 2024.
